# 1 Amp alternative for Mac

Canonical page: https://macbase.app/alternatives/amp

Coding agent that works in the terminal and your editor to write and change code with little help.

Most people who switch from Amp want more say over cost or over which model works on their code. Alternatives include open-source agents where you bring your own keys, agents built into a code editor, and Mac apps for running several agents side by side.
