# Cline Alternative for Mac: An App Like Cline

Canonical page: https://macbase.app/alternatives/cline

Open-source coding agent for VS Code that plans and makes changes, with your approval at each step.

Cline is free and open source, but it lives inside your editor and you pay the model provider for what you use. People look elsewhere for a fixed monthly plan, an agent that runs in the terminal, or a separate app for managing several agents.
