# GPT4All Alternative for Mac: An App Like GPT4All

Canonical page: https://macbase.app/alternatives/gpt4all

Free desktop app from Nomic for running open language models offline and chatting with local files.

GPT4All is an easy way to start with local AI, but people who outgrow it want more models, faster performance on Apple silicon, or a local server other apps can talk to. Alternatives add those, or wrap models in a more Mac-like window.
