# iA Writer Alternative for Mac: An App Like iA Writer

Canonical page: https://macbase.app/alternatives/ia-writer

Plain-text Markdown editor with a focus mode, made for distraction-free writing.

iA Writer strips writing down to text and little else. Alternatives suit writers who want a library to organize many pieces, formatting that hides the Markdown symbols, or a free, open-source editor.
