Built into macOS: reads and sends email from iCloud, Gmail, Outlook and other accounts.

Mail is free, already on your Mac, and works with most accounts, but it can feel basic next to newer email apps. Alternatives add smarter sorting, keyboard-first designs, shared inboxes for teams, and apps that also run on Windows or Android.
