## About

FolderBase adds notes, priorities, statuses, links, and deadlines to the files and folders already on your Mac. It works alongside Finder without moving, copying, or rewriting documents, making it useful for projects where file names alone do not capture the context or progress.

Use templates across folder structures, switch between table and Kanban views, and search by name, content, or meaning. Optional AI supports OCR, hybrid search, and chat with cited sources, while exclusions and local Apple or Ollama models keep control of what is processed. FolderBase is local-first, open source, and built with native macOS technologies.
