About MightyBench: 49 private tools for Mac
MightyBench is every tool your Mac was missing: 49 private tools for video, audio, images, PDFs, on-device AI and files, in one native Mac app. Press ⌃⌥Space, type what you need, drop your files.
Why I built it
Small jobs kept sending me to upload-your-file websites: compress a video for email, merge two PDFs, convert images, transcribe a voice note. Each meant another app, another subscription, or private files on someone else's server. So I built one app for all of it.
What's inside
- Video (13): Record Screen, Compress Video (aim for a target size like 25 MB), Convert, Trim, Merge, Burn In Subtitles, Video to GIF and more
- PDF (12): Merge, Split, Organize, Compress, Sign, Add/Remove Password, Make PDF Searchable and more
- Images (9): Convert (incl. WebP and AVIF), Compress, Resize, Remove Background, Remove Metadata, Upscale, Watermark, QR Codes
- Audio (6): Record, Trim, Clean Up, Extract, Convert, Text to Speech
- Intelligence (6): Transcribe, Dictation, Extract Text, Summarize, Translate, Search Files
- Files (3): Batch Rename, Find Duplicates, Zip & Unzip
Private by design
- Runs on your Mac, built on Apple's own frameworks: AVFoundation, PDFKit, Vision, Speech, Translation and Apple Intelligence
- No account, no cloud, no analytics. Files never leave your machine
- Originals are never touched. Results go to a fresh dated folder
- If 1 of 50 files fails, you keep the 49 that worked
Built for the Mac
- Smart Drop: drop any files on Home and MightyBench suggests the tools that fit
- Send to next tool: Trim, then Compress, then Burn In Subtitles, without hunting for files
- Global launcher, menu bar quick actions, and a dictation key that works in every app
- Liquid Glass design for macOS 26, with hardware encoding on Apple silicon
