About Pixtamer
Pixtamer turns a folder of photos, screenshots or design exports into web-ready images in one batch: the right format, the right size and a clean file name, with real before-and-after sizes for every file.
Drop in images or whole folders, pick a format and size, and export. Everything runs on your Mac. There's no account, no upload and no network access, and your originals are never changed.
What it does:
• Convert to JPEG, PNG, WebP or AVIF. Reads JPEG, PNG, HEIC/HEIF, WebP, AVIF, TIFF, GIF, BMP and JPEG XL.
• Compress with a quality slider, or lossless WebP. Strip metadata or keep it.
• Resize to fit a box, to an exact size, or to several widths at once. One source becomes 480w, 960w and 1440w files for srcset, and small images are never upscaled.
• Rename with web-safe names ("Homepage Hero (FINAL).heic" becomes "homepage-hero-final.webp"), a suffix, or a template like {name}-{width}w.
• Organise output into subfolders by format or by width.
• Presets: save a recipe once and apply it to the next batch.
• Preview each image before and after, with the actual output dimensions, size and file name.
• Safe exports: originals are never touched, and existing files aren't overwritten unless you choose to. One bad file doesn't stop the batch.
• Recent Exports keeps a history of what went where.
