About Poinky
Poinky is a free, open-source Mac assistant that lets you ask questions about anything on screen. Hold Control and Option, speak, and it uses Claude to answer out loud while pointing to relevant content, drawing step-by-step explanations, or showing a 3D model you can spin.
It can guide you through tasks by circling clicks and waiting for you, or type into apps on your behalf after asking for confirmation before sending. Poinky lives in the Mac notch or menu bar, supports voice conversations, and can run a natural English voice locally. It requires macOS 26 or later, Apple silicon is recommended, and an Anthropic API key or Claude Code account.
