About Stoic
Stoic is a native video player for Apple silicon Macs, built for Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG playback. It opens local files including MKV, MP4 and MOV, adapting HDR output to the capabilities of the current display.
Alongside display-aware colour, Stoic includes dual subtitles, a ten-band equalizer, picture in picture, media inspection, playback benchmarks, frame stepping, A–B loops, timestamped notes, still exports and clip export. It runs on macOS 26 or later, keeps libraries and notes local, and supports one purchase across up to three personal Macs.
