About Folio
Folio brings together notes, annotatable PDFs, images, and voice memos into notebooks organized on a bookshelf. It is designed for students who want to write as if on paper, structure topics across pages and subpages, plan tasks, and export their work as PDF, Markdown, or JSON files.
Using on-device Apple Intelligence, it can turn pages and documents into flashcards, with review sessions scheduled via FSRS. It also features quizzes, reminders, and Lio—an assistant that can answer questions based on your notes. The app works offline, stores files locally on your Mac, and allows you to share notebooks or individual pages for real-time collaborative study.
